Building and renovation · Chimney sweeps and stove installers

Put your stoves and chimneys on show.

The first cold week of autumn has arrived. A family wants to light the fire again, but nobody has swept the chimney for a while. Another couple dream of a wood burner in the front room. Both search, open a few sites and look for someone they can trust with a flue.

Before they ask

What people want to know

Do you sweep, fit, or both?

Sweeping a chimney and fitting a stove are different jobs. A clear page for each, with what is involved, tells visitors straight away if you are the right call.

Will the room stay clean?

Soot worries everyone. A short note in your own words on how you protect the floor and tidy up helps the fear of mess fade.

Can a visitor see stoves you fitted?

A stove is a feature of the room. Photos of finished fits, with the whole room around them, let a visitor picture one in their own home.

How is a visit booked?

A short form asks if the visit is for a sweep, a new stove or both, and what time would suit. You read the facts before you reply.

Proof

Proof that wins the quote

  • Fitted stoves

Photos of finished stoves with the room around them. Take them with the fire out and the hearth clear.

  • Clean hearths

A tidy hearth after a sweep says more than a sentence. Send a photo of the room as you left it.

  • Open fire to stove

A bare fireplace next to the same space with a new stove shows the change in one look.

  • You at work

A photo of you with your brushes and rods ready shows customers what a visit looks like.

Registrations and memberships

Work on flues and stoves often comes with a registration or a membership. Should you hold any, they get a clear place on your website. We show only what you say you hold.

What we build

The pages we build

  1. Home

A warm photo of a lit stove, one line on what you do and a button to book a sweep or ask about a stove.

  2. Sweeping

What a visit involves, from the first look at the fireplace to the final brush of the hearth.

  3. Stoves we fit

The kinds of stove you fit and the rooms they suit, set out in plain words.

  4. Gallery

Finished stoves and clean hearths in daylight photos, grouped so visitors can find a look they like.

  5. About you

You and your tools, with a photo and a few lines on how you work in a home.

  6. Book a visit

A short form that asks if it is a sweep, a stove or both, and how to reach the customer.

Planning ahead

Interest in chimneys grows as the nights draw in. Many people book a sweep before the first fire of the cold months. Stove fitting is planned earlier, often in summer. Spring brings a second wave as owners think ahead. A page for each job suits both rushes.

The Payment package

Deposits and final payments

A sweep is a small job, paid on the day. A new stove is a larger one, with a deposit and a last payment. A card machine lets the customer pay on the doorstep for either. A payment link covers anyone who is out.

The terms, in full

  • Card machine £25 + VAT a month, paid to our payment provider.
  • Website, domain, hosting and one business mailbox included while you keep the machine.
  • Minimum term as set by the payment provider's agreement: 3 months for a sole trader, 18 months for a limited company.
  • Extra mailboxes £25 a year.
  • Stop the machine and we offer to keep the website live at £20 a month.
Questions

Quick answers

Can customers book a sweep online?

Yes. The visit form lets them say sweep, stove or both, and pick a time that suits. You get the request by email.

Should the site list every stove make?

No. A few lines on the kinds of stove you fit are enough. Naming a make is up to you, and we only write what you tell us.

Can the site show open fires and stoves?

Yes. The gallery has two sections, one for open fireplaces and one for stoves, so a visitor sees the job they have in mind.

Must the page say how often to sweep?

It depends on you. Some sweeps give a short note on how often to sweep for each fuel. If you want one, we write it from your words.

What about a paper after a sweep?

If you give one, say so. A line on the sweeping page tells customers what they will receive. Show nothing you do not give.

Can you add new work as it comes?

Yes. Send a photo of each new stove or clean hearth with a line about it, and we add it to the gallery.
