Show the cake, take the order.
A birthday is three weeks away. A parent wants something special, not a cake from a shop. They search on a phone, looking for a baker who makes bespoke cakes. They want to see what you make, find out how to order and know if you have the date free.
What makes someone book
Can you make the cake we picture?
Customers arrive with a theme, a colour or a photo from a magazine. A gallery sorted by birthdays, weddings and children's cakes shows how well you turn an idea into a cake.
How far ahead must we order?
Bespoke cakes need time. A short note on how much notice you need, and a form that asks for the date first, saves a lot of messages.
What about allergies?
Allergies matter to many families. The page can say how you handle them and ask people to tell you before they order. Tell us how you work and we write it plainly.
How do we collect and pay?
Customers want to know about deposits, pick-up times and delivery. One clear page with those steps stops last-minute worry the night before the party.
The pages we build
- Home
A big, bright photo of a cake you made, a line about what you bake and a button to start an order.
- Cake gallery
Photos of your cakes sorted by the day they were made for, from birthdays to weddings.
- Flavours and sizes
The flavours, the sizes and how many each one serves. A price can sit beside each size when you want one shown.
- How to order
Each step from first message to pick-up, including how much notice you need.
- About you
You, your kitchen and why you love to bake, with a photo of you at work.
- Order form
A short form for the date, the size, the flavour and any ideas, plus a place to add a picture.
Proof before the first visit
Photos of finished cakes
Cakes shown close up and from the side. Natural light and a plain table work well.
Cakes beside their stories
A line under each cake says what it was for and what went inside. Customers see the care behind it.
Words from happy customers
Messages from happy customers go on the page as they were written. Not one is invented.
Your kitchen
A photo of where you bake, and of you, tells a customer that a real person makes their cake.
Registrations and memberships
People who sell food often hold a registration or a certificate for their kitchen. Any that you hold sit in a clear spot on your page. Nothing is shown that you have not told us about.
Busy times and quiet times
Some days fill early, such as Mother's Day, Christmas and the summer wedding weeks. Birthdays arrive all year, so orders do too. Customers often look at your page weeks before they ask. A fresh page shows that you are still baking.
Paying at the appointment
Most cake makers take a deposit to hold the date and the rest at pick-up. A card machine lets a customer tap to pay the deposit on the day they order and the balance when they collect. Cash and transfers need no chasing.
The terms, in full
- Card machine £25 + VAT a month, paid to our payment provider.
- Website, domain, hosting and one business mailbox included while you keep the machine.
- Minimum term as set by the payment provider's agreement: 3 months for a sole trader, 18 months for a limited company.
- Extra mailboxes £25 a year.
- Stop the machine and we offer to keep the website live at £20 a month.
Quick answers
Can customers order a cake on the website?
They can ask for one. We build a short form for the date, the size and the flavour. You reply to confirm, so no cake is promised before you check your diary.
Should the page show your prices?
It depends. Some bakers show a starting price for each size. Others say that every cake is different. We leave room for either, and we write only what you give us.
Can you list the flavours you bake?
Yes. A simple list of flavours and fillings helps customers choose, and it saves you answering the same message again. We add new ones when you tell us.
How should the page handle allergies?
Carefully. The page can ask customers to tell you about any allergy before they order. You tell us how you work, and we put it in plain words.
Do customers collect or do you deliver?
Whichever you offer. Tell us how it works and we explain it on the order page, so nobody is surprised on the day.
Can you add photos of new cakes?
Yes. Send us a photo and a line about the cake, and we add it to the gallery. Your page stays full of recent work.
See your website before you decide.
Tell us about your business. We build the website first, free, and show you. Then we compare your card rate and you decide.
